Why male models have six packs?

Here's a question, why male models all have to be sexy and with six packs?
Women complains all the time about women models on the fashion catwalks, either too skinny and beautiful.
Now a lot of designers had cut the use of size zero models, but what's going on with male models, no one is saying anything.
I found that as women have their sexist rights, males counterparts are losing theirs!

thats not true, i know many men that live so unhealthy just to get their six pack and to keep their sexy body. the author is right, its just sexism, when women scream because auf the female models but not because male ones ;)

There is an difference in being healthy, you don't need to overwork yourself just so you can have a six pack, muscular people tends to live shorter, and yes if you don't have an six pack you shouldn't be not eating and be anorexic.

Having a six pack can be a sign of health, and so can being thin--- it just depends on what you do to get it. Yet that really isn't the point here... Narrow-minded beauty ideals and the disproportionately large effects of commercial "beauty" are.

It is not true that as women gain their rights, men are losing theirs. Women are still being paid less than men, still face "glass ceilings," are criminalized as "sluts," discriminated against in courts (especially Native American women), denied the right to abortions. Sexism's effects reach both men and women, as the objectification of men in fashion shows. Whenever a man is thought to "not act his gender," he is derogatorily accused of "acting like a girl," and generally treated in the sexist way women often are.

The same people who hire and promote unhealthy ideals of male beauty also promote anorexic female models (and you don't have to be a size zero to glamorize eating disorders or objectify your gender.) Companies who promote this ideal of beauty are the same people who promoted the "curvy" ideal in the 40s, only now the "hot commodity" is skinny. These companies could care less for the mental and physical healthy of their consumers, as long as the consumers keep buying their "product."

So let's not turn this into a "man vs. woman" battle... women and men need to be united against the disproportionate attention given to unhealthy, commercialized "beauty" ideals sold to us by the fashion industry. People who are against unhealthy depictions of beauty believe it applies to both women AND men. Not applying these standards to male models is a sexist double standard--- the kind feminism is trying to fight.

the question is why male models have six packs?

it is such a brilliant and quizzical question..

for your information a.k.a. f.y.i., male models should have the six pack to gain interest and affectionate the viewers as the male models with hot bods are truly eyecandy..

do you, i mean all of you prefer to watch sticks rather than well-shaped blocks moving around your eyeballs?? do you??

it was just one of my point of views.. i mean it was just a cynical opinion..

so, take it or leave it..

by the way, commentators, your grammar suck!!

learn how to write in proper english since you are born and speaking in so called 'english' language environment..

im an asian and im damn proud of myself because i learnt/learned english language very well and there is improvement in my proficiency..

well the main point is, the male models with six pack or eight pack should be in line with the modelling agencies..

not forget to mention, the skinny people also should get the privileges to become such hotties and making living with modelling agencies and demand higher because skinny people with good bods scarcely to find..

give them hot shots and work out.. nevertheless, don't take pills, alcohol (makes your belly@stomach rounder and you'll look plump)>> ugly isn't it??, live in non-fucking girls environment, always take a bath in the morning (with cold water)>> gives you healthy and delightful skin, eat well-balanced foods, don't lay down after taking meals (you can lay down after 30-40 minutes after took the meals), don't eat pork (it has bad bacteria that won't die even they've been held into the incinerator) and last but not least, have self-confidence.. it's not far from be in a good shape, though.
